This morning Sofia and I joined Abby and Wyatt at the Tohono Chul Park for Story time and walk in the children's garden. Story time ended up being much shorter then we had expected.
So we spent a lot of time in the garden. We played in the water and Sofia grabbed up hand fulls of rocks. Of course she tried to eat a them, we had a finger biting battle over it. Eventually I was able to distract her from the rocks with a giant ceramic bunny.
Although it looks like Sofia and Wyatt where fighting over this bunny, they were actually taking turns rocking the bunny back and forth.
At one point during the play time I was assisting Sofia as she followed Wyatt over this little bridge. For some reason I was watching Wyatt's feet as he was walking and suddenly I realized that his little foot was passing right over a baby rattle snake. It didn't move or even make a sound. I think It might have been sleeping still as it didn't move at all. We promptly whisked up the babies and called a docent. Who then called another docent who called the snake guy with a bucket. Apparently all the baby rattle snakes have just hatched so they are all over the park right now. In the above picture you can barely see the snake. In the picture below I got a zoomed close up of him/her.
We then took a walk in the desert garden and headed for the door as it was getting too hot!
