Pamela is throwing a costume party play date the day before Halloween and we are invited. I'm so excited about this. After much deliberation we decided Sofia would go as a monkey since she is always climbing around all over the place.
I made her costume from scratch. I made the pattern myself using one of her footie pj's as a guide. I bought this super soft furry fabric. It throws off little fluff balls everywhere when you cut it, but it feels so nice.
Thanks in part to having my mom around last week I was able to get the whole thing finished in one afternoon. I did a lot of it at night as well, sitting next to Daniele while he play video games on the computer. I like when we can both do something separate but be near each other.
Here is the very cute finished product. I wasn't going to share it until after the costume party but I'm quite proud of myself so..... Sofia likes monkeying around in her costume. I had to give the head piece a snap closure so she couldn't rip it off. I took two pieces of biases tape and sewed them together. I then sewed one end to the inside of the cap and on the other end I put a snap. Then of course I put the other half of the snap on the cap and voila it was done.
She modeled for us as if she were on a runway!
so totally cute!
