As I sit here making up our weekly menu, I decided it would be fun to start sharing it with you. I recently made up this menu chart. I start my menus on Saturday since that is when we do our major shopping trip. I try to buy everything for the week on Saturday. I also have a prep section at the bottom so that I can remind myself to do things the night before. That way I'll remember to soak beans or grind flour. It's easy to forget otherwise.
I attempt to make all the meals in the week at home. The exception is Tuesday lunch. Daniele has a work team lunch that day. Though some days we invite the team home for lunch. That is always a lot of fun.
This week the menu is formed around the freezer and pantry as I'm taking an inventory today.

I hope you find these menus helpful, or at least inspiring!
These menus are both helpful & inspiring. I'll share my menus with you sometime in the near future-- though they are not nearly as complete as yours. I don't cook for breakfast and lunch during the week (and we go out to eat at least once during the weekend), but I have made leaps and bounds since moving to Boston (and I'm thoroughly enjoying our large kitchen!!).
ReplyDeleteAwesome! We were eating out once a week on Friday dinner or Saturday lunch. But we want to put some money back in savings so we put ourselves on a 100 dollars budget for the whole month for eating out so we need to pick when we really want to eat out.
ReplyDeletePlease do share recipes! I'm always up for new things to cook.
I've tried this before but always get behind because of leftovers...it's also very challenging to stick to the menu. Your menu looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI was going to make a note about that. We recently had leftover of the Indian food. So on Monday for lunch we had those left overs instead. And then today Sofia and I finished up whatever else was left from the previous days. I try to fit in dishes that will be ok to skip or move around as I know sometimes schedules get messed up. I'm super rigid about these menu's but it helps me not to think about what to make. I would say 80% of the time we stick to the whole menu.
