Air and space
This past Sunday I ditched all my domestic responsibilities on the whim of two year old and took the 45 minute drive south to the Pima Air and Space Museum. It felt somewhat like our first homeschooling outing. Sofia wanted to see planes and so I said lets go see planes! We saw some amazingly strange airplanes from the oldest to the fastest and the largest to the most famous.
Was a day filled with joy, laughter and a two year olds' first ice cream cone worth a sink full of dirty dishes and seven loads of dirty laundry? Yes it was. Note: you don't see Viola because I am wearing her on my back with the hood on. She slept the whole 4 hours we were there!
Have you gone anywhere on a whim lately?

is this the airport "graveyard"? miles of old planes lined up? I've always wanted to visit. What a fun little trip for your sweet ones.
ReplyDeleteThere are two areas of planes out here. One is way out in the boonies going towards Phoenix. That I think is graveyard. Then there is the military base that has all the old bombers. And finally the Air and Space museum. It's really quiet strange, but fun to see!
ReplyDeletewe haven't been there in ages. hmmm maybe we will take a trip to tucson and go again. this is the best time of the year for it.
ReplyDeletelooks like fun! I love the 6th photo down. Expression is priceless!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day!! Way to go mama, following your little ones lead is the best and often leads to the best days. Dirty dishes and laundry will always be there and I bet Sofia won't remember the dishes in the sink, but she will remember this wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteIt was really fun. The only problem I have with spur of the moment trips is the food. I'm a bit or-toxic about eating out. But Daniele always says to me 90-10. So eating out this one time was ok. I would hope she never remembers the dishes!
