Link me up: January

We are smack dab in the middle of January already.  How time flies when you live in the moment with children. So here are somethings that I have been enjoying so far besides making eggs...

  • awesome recipes from 101 cookbooks
  • looking at the food photography from Smitten Kitchen
  • pulling these dragon carrots from my garden
  • planning my summer garden via this seed source and this seed source
  • flipping through the pages of this cheese making book
  • just finished reading Made by Hand, great book filled with anecdotes about learning to everything from scratch
  • found this cool new video series with the same title Made by Hand
  • with all the hot weather we are having I'm thinking about making this top for my girls
  • I want to see snow like this one day
  • I want to try this chalk and this play dough
  • I love this book  and the website by fellow blogger Kim Corrigan-Olver, look for a review soon!

  1. making felt eggs is so much fun.
i have been planning my garden as well. i know people think living in the desert there isn't any growth, but i can actually plant now, where as back east we couldn't until the end of may. :)

    1. We I planting entirely from seed this year and just had the first of my seedlings pop up under the grow lights. It seems silly that in AZ I need grow lights but we have no windows that get sun all day long.

  2. Thanks so much for the mention KC, I really appreciate it. And glad to hear you are enjoying the book, it has my heart and soul in it.

I am in the midst of summer garden planning too, can't wait to get out there and get my hands dirty, unfortunately we still have at least 4 months before that happens :(

We have that playdough and all I can say is...LOVE IT!!!!!!

Now I want to try that chalk too. Love the top. And if you ever want to see snow like than feel free to come for a visit, I am sure we would have a ton of fun!

    1. I imagine that your growing season up there is super short! If you love that play dough and have thoroughly tested it out I think I'll get it. I'll let you know about the chalk...

Thanks for the invite. One day when girls are old enough to really romp in the snow I might take you up on the offer! If you ever feel like hanging out in January in shorts and t-shirt with the cactus and coyotes feel free to come our way!
