This weekend-
:: taken one moment at a time
:: hearing the pitter patter of little feet going about the house at 5 am before anyone was awake
:: the first batch of zucchini muffins
:: a father daughter date to the children's museum
:: a trip to the local jewish thrift shop with only one baby in tow
:: following through on several occasions even if that meant a tantrum to follow
:: filled with lots of ten minute meals
:: watching two movies in a row and staying up way too late
:: washing a weeks worth of dishes and mopping the floor only to have it clean for a whole 45 minutes
:: falling asleep on the couch with a book in my hand
:: looking through old travel photos and feeling the itch

Oh Venice! 20 years ago, I was just out of high school, with a too-heavy pack as I wandered the streets of Venice. Many wonderful memories popping up as I daydream over your picture.
ReplyDeleteOh, and that couch-nap sounds dreamy!
I'm glad you could reminisce too!
DeleteI was wondering about the photo...gorgeous! I can see why your feeling the itch. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I took that almost ten years before digital. I carried 20 rolls of film and 35 mm camera with me to Italy when I went to live there.
Deletefalling asleep on the sofa with a book...guilty! hope you are rested :)
ReplyDeleteI was ...:)
DeleteI had to laugh at mopping the floor and enjoying it being clean for 45 minutes. That's exactly how it is at my house. As soon as the floors are clean, I savor it for a few minutes and then watch the crumbs and spills and who knows what else start to accumulate again. :)
ReplyDeleteBecause when you get it all done they've either woken up from a nap or come home from the park and want soem sort of meal or to play something and then it's all back again. It's only the people who don't cook that have clean kitchens!
