Postcard exchange
I'll admit it, I'm old school, I love snail mail. I like the walk to the mail box and the slight shortness of breath when I think I might find something wonderful in the box. As well as the rush of excitement when you get something you weren't expecting. I like to read the other person's handwriting, see their ink choice, their stamp choice and if they included a little doodle or not. There is something warm and inviting about hand written notes. In this day of instant communication it's nice to know someone took the time to find the card, write a note, put a stamp and then send it to you.
For over a decade my best friend and I have been exchanging postcards on every trip we go on. We've both got a shoe box filled with the others cards from around the world. It is fun to look at the stamps she chose, the cancellation stamp of the postal service and the wear and tear of traveling. The postcard you see in the picture on my fridge I got three months after she came back even though she had sent it when she was there!
With my upcoming trip to San Diego I will most certainly be sending my dear friend a postcard. But I would also like to send out two postcards to you readers and have one of you send one to me. Wouldn't it be fun to get a mystery postcard from someone you've never met before, or only talked to online? Here is how this exchange will work. You enter your name, e-mail and mailing address in the secure form below. I will then e-mail the person after you on the list your mailing address and they will send you a postcard. The last person on the list will send a postcard to me and I will send a postcard to the first person on the list as well as one randomly picked other person.
If this sounds like fun please fill in the form below. It will be open until July 13th. And of course the list address will be kept top secret and deleted after I e-mail everyone.

oops, I didn't mean to send! I gave you my email and street address but no state or zip...I'm Angie Klein, just email me and I'll give you the rest of the info...btw this is such a fun idea! I've been thinking about doing something like this for my kiddos and our homeschooling.
ReplyDeleteNo problem! How old are your kiddos? we could do a little exchange if they are young like mine.
