Fairy tale pumpkin

I bought this pumpkin at the farmers market the other day. They call them fairy tale pumpkins. However I call them rustic goodness. In small towns in Italy you can find little old lady farmers with huge version of these pumpkins. They ask you how much you want, you say about this this much and then they take a machete and chop a huge chunk off for you. I will be making oodles of things out of this pumpkin. I'm no longer waiting for Halloween or Thanksgiving to roll around to make pumpkin based dishes. I'm already on it and enjoying it so much. I think I will do a recipe feature on pumpkin for a month or so. Every Monday I will put up a new recipe involving pumpkin. If you are interested please let me know in the comments below.
