Holiday dress

Last year I spent more time then necessary looking for a holiday dress for Sofia. She wore it once and that was that. Of course that happens with many specialty dress....

But this year I decided to just make it myself. So I picked the color fabric I like and made up a simple pattern using another dress. I also used this dress as guide for the bodice. It took me about two hours total to make the dress. It would have taken less, but I messed up the measurement on the bodice. Sofia is a tiny girl but not that tiny! I'm really happy with this dress. Hopefully she'll have some occasion to wear it. Maybe I'll do a dress up playdate just so my friends and I can be cruel and dress our kids up!

All that is missing now is a hook and eye closure for the back.
