Rarely do I ever buy new fabric that's in season. I just wait until SAS gets in a whole new pile of stuff and then go crazy on the remnants. But this time I was browsing the internet to see if this one fabric I have been waiting on for ages has come out yet. Well it has. So I went around to my favorite online shops to see who had it. Fabricworm seems to have everything, so I ended up getting it from them. That fabric hasn't arrive yet but click on the link above and you can see it. It's a cute whale fabric which will become a summer dress for Sofia.
While looking for this whale fabric at my other favorite store Cotton Blossom Farm, I came upon the newline from Pillow and Maxfield called Gypsy Bandana. I went nuts. I love Indian looking fabrics and this is the closest I've seen in a long time. If you know of any others please send me a link! So I went a little nuts and bought 4 different fabrics. They have so many patterns and colors it was almost out of control. But I went with these because very specific projects pop into my head when I saw them. I thought about this for a week before purchasing just to make sure I was truely in love. From left to right these fabrics will become: red-summer dress and shirt for Sofia, blue throw pillow, red border-Kurti shirt adapted for a pregnant belly, blue border- lounge pants or calf length skirt. Yippie I'm so excited.
For the moment these projects will be on the back burner. I have a box full of current projects that need to get finished before the end of the month! I recently took a trip down to Buffalo Exchange to pick up some cheap clothes to alter into maternity clothing. There will be a post and tutorial very soon.
