Sundress for sofia

I found this cute fabric at SAS a few months ago and new right away I wanted it to be a dress for Sofia. I decided to branch out this time and try something a little more complicated. Over at Prudent Baby they have a great tutorial for what they call "Snappy Toddler Top". I think this pattern is just adorable and tested it out by making a shirt first with another fabric.

It of course the shirt looks adorable, so I lengthened the body and turned it into a dress. I decided to do buttons instead of snaps. Snaps would have been easier but I like the button look. I was very happy when Sofia asked to wear the dress this morning. Needless to say I'll be expanding her spring/summer wardrobe with several more shirts and dress in this style.

I'm also going to try and teach my self how shir. Prudent baby has another sundress tutorial that involves elastic thread and I'm eager to try it out.
