Threads Sewing Guide

Threads Sewing Guide: A Complete Reference from America's Best-Loved Sewing Magazine

I really want to get this book. I just found it on Amazon. I was thinking the other day how there seems to be no straight forward guide to all the parts of sewing. I keep running into new techniques I don't know about with all these new projects I'm doing. Most books that claim to teach you about sewing do that a little bit but then move on to making projects. I don't kneed to know how to make another pillow case what I need is a guide to sewing with knit fabrics or inserting invisible zippers.

I wanted to find something that went step by step with pictures start to finish. I suppose I could take a sewing class but there's no time in the evening for that. I'd rather eat dinner with my family. So when I looked at the table of contents for this book I get really excited! It's just what I am looking for. Have any of you read this? If I get the book I'll do a review and let you know.

  1. This one looks good. I have a sort of old-fashioned one from Simplicity that has been great for clothing, lots of good descriptions of how to do things and definitions of techniques - but it only has drawings, and I think pictures would be so much better! Looking forward to seeing you and Sofia on Friday :)
