Watermelon bliss

This Memorial Day I cooked up a storm and gave the gift of food to a friend who is due any minute now with her second baby. I made baked beans, russian potato salad, pastured lamb ribs, grass fed beef burgers, grilled corn and of course watermelon. I also made the buttermilk raspberry cake but we were all too full to even cut into it.

The thing I wanted most to share with you all was this picture of Sofia with a watermelon stained face. There is something so beautiful and joyous about children with chins dripping with watermelon juice. They are so in the moment that getting soaked doesn't even matter.
