Onion and Garlic Festival
Yes, it was smelly and it smelled delicious! Saturday evening we took about an hour drive south to the Aqua Linda Farm in Amado, Arizona. As I write this, I can smell the bags of onions and garlic I bought wafting our of my pantry.
Agua Linda is a you-pick it farm with organic practices. Due to the delicate nature of digging up onions and garlic, they were already picked, cleaned and bagged.
This was fine with me as it was quite hot that afternoon and had not cooled off yet. The only produce they had available for picking was fava beans.
Sofia enjoyed re-arranging the bags of onions in the back of our car.
Of course they had fresh onion rings. They were sweet and mild. I could have eaten more but pregnancy heartburn was on the rise so I stopped!
They had free hay rides around the farm as well as pony rides and a small petting zoo. The petting zoo really consisted of the place where they kept the sheep, goats and chickens. But you were allowed to go in and pet the goats and sheep.
Over all it was a really fun evening and I'm glad we got out and about.
