Festivities and crafty days

This week and weekend was full of festivities and crafting. I made a birthday crown for Sofia, finished her sweater finally and Daniele made a steampunk gun from a nerf gun.
I made crown using various ideas from the internet. There are some really amazing crowns out there.
I made this one using 100% wool felt.  It's so much nicer then polyester.
I made Sofia a marble yogurt cake. She helped me test the batter.

Needless to say it was yummy. We ate it for her birthday Friday night.

This was the cake for the family party. Sofia and I went to our local bakery and she told them exactly what she wanted on her cake. A blue cat.  The Village Bakehouse is a lovely place to get a good cake as well as yummy pastries made in house. If you are a Tucson local you can check them out at the St. Philips Farmers Market on Saturdays.
I finally finished the sweater I started a year ago. I'll post some pictures of Sofia in it when we go somewhere cold (in Tucson it's STILL short-sleeves weather)! I've already cast on my next project. A sweater for myself! I only have one right now and it's old and covered in cooking oil stains, time for a new one!
And finally here is the steampunk gun that Daniele made by painting a Nerf gun (see below compared to the original). I'm so proud of him for taking the initiative and doing something really crafty.

What are you up too these days?
