Handmade maternity clothes that aren't lame!

Maternity clothing as anyone who's had a baby knows is so expensive. Why adding a little bit of knit fabric to some shorts or an extra 1/4 yard to a shirt makes it three times the original price is a mystery to me. I did bit of googling to see if I could find an patterns for maternity clothing and they all came up totally out of date. For Some reason the big pattern companies have not realized that our generation is proud to be pregnant and show off that cute baby bump. Who really wants to wear a mumu....

I did however, find a great link round up from other mommies like me at luvinthemommyhood. After looking at a few tutorials there I figured out how to make some easy comfy skirts with pockets as well as pants.

The skirt you see above is my first go at maternity wear. This skirt is super comfy and I added pockets! The pockets are my favorite part. I don't know why they ever stopped making skirts with pockets. I found a great tutorial on how to create a skirt with pockets here. When I do the next skirt I will post a tutorial for it. I seem to say that a lot, but tutorials take a long time to make. 

That being said I should probably announce my 2nd pregnancy. Baby Pagano is due in August 2011!
