Fabric addiction

Yesterday I went to SAS to pick up some buttons for the pile of shirts and dresses I am making for Sofia. They always have buckets of buttons. Well believe it or not they did not have a single button with color. No purple, yellow, not even pink. I was so bummed. But then I looked at the cotton prints pile. Oh my lord. They added a second pile to their already enormous pile of fabrics. Needless to say I had to go over just to see. Luckly I had Sofia with me because they had a new shipment in and it's amazing, I could have dug my way into a hundred dollar tab. I didn't even get to dig and still came out with like 15 beautiful pieces of fabric. After 20 minutes Sofia told me it was time to go. She literally said, "Mama, basta" (basta meaning enough in Italian). So with the heavy heart of a total fabric addict, I picked up my basket and went to the checkout line.

Just so any of you Tucson readers want to go there, for some reason they have a lot of current collection pieces there. I got a piece of green gypsy paisely from Pillow and Maxfield.  I in fact just bought the red and blue versions online. The thing about these piles (I'm to justify this addiction) is that it's $3.99 a yard. Compare that to the normal price of $8.50 per 1/2 yard online and you'll see where I am coming from here. Often they don't have an entire yard, maybe, 3/4 or 1/2. Most of the time it's 1/4. But even these remnant scraps are plenty for Sofia's clothes or small things like pot holders, purses, patch work skirts, head scarves you name it! Half the stuff I got was only $1.50. With that kind of price tag I can hardly restrain myself.

I really really wanted to go back today. I don't like the feeling of wanting to go back to buy things just to have them. I don't like the idea of stashing things unless it's dry food goods, you always use those. I think the love of a good bargain is ingrained in every American. The need to buy something I loved just because I cab get it at a cheaper price really fuels my desire to buy fabric.

After all that, what I want to say is I love affordable fabric! I can't help but buy it when is see it. Are any of you addicted to fabric, or something else that can be stashed?
