This morning while sweeping the front porch we had a surprise visitor crawl out of the pile of fallen leaves.
This tarantula was quite tame. He even allowed me to pick him up with my broom and bring him out into the yard.
It seems like this neighborhood is always filled with wildlife. From packs of howling coyotes in the middle of the night to tarantulas on your door step at 6 in the morning.
Nice to see how you calmly handled him! They look almost more animal than insect to me.
ReplyDeleteI'll admit I did a little gig of fright before I knew what it was. But yes they are way to big to want to kill. Plus they are harmless. Having Sofia right next to it when I found it made me more calm about it as well. I feel like children really help curb any fears you might have because your responsibility to them comes before fear.
