Every Sunday as you know we go the local farmers market and pick up our CSA basket. This week there were some fun things that I thought you might want to see. It was a very green basket this time filled with lots of leaves and squash. In the picture above are cucumbers, a giant patty pan squash and callaloo. There were also onions, garlic, basil, sage, purslane and lots of yellow squash.
Callaloo is a Jamaican spinach like leaf. This is one of the reasons I love having this CSA, once again I get to be surprised by new food. With this bag of callaloo I will be making a creamy coconut soup. I'll let you know how it turns out.
