This past Saturday we drove down to Wilcox to go apple picking. It was nice and cool when we got there, which was a relief, because when we went peach picking earlier in the summer, it was so hot we could hardly get a bucket of them.
Sofia really enjoyed being on my back for a while. In this shot she actually had two apples one in each hand. She was testing out the early jonathan and the fuji apples for me.
She eventually wanted to get out of the carrier and so Daniele took her and let her pick apples at the top of the trees. She really loved apple picking. She picked out very specific apples as well. She would look at them and reach for one, if you didn't get her to the right one she wouldn't pick it.
What great helpers they were.
We picked these two buckets full of apples. They ended up weighing around 50 pounds. We got granny smiths, fuji, and early jonathan.
Just for fun, here is a link to the history of apples.
